At DjangoCon Chicago I gave a lightning talk on automated deployment using Django, Docker and Salt. In this system:
-Django is the interface to the configuration database keeping track of the servers and deployed applications within a cluster of servers
-Docker is used to make an application image, and
-Salt is used to apply configuration changes to the systems themselves
